description
This position provides direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. They provide medical management and assess patients and document pertinent patient information. Ensures data is accurate and that it is included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates. Work with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu.

Also, this position provides leadership, supervision and direction to the Mental Health Specialists and LPNs.

Assists with unit programming to facilitate the carryover of therapy issues, leisure activities and activities of daily living within the functional ability of patients with consideration for the patient’s level of growth and development.

description
Provide guidance and development to all hospital staff through interdisciplinary educational programs that enhance the facility’s organizational mission. Administer the Infection Control and Employee Health Programs to provide guidance and to assure the safe implementation of all work and patient care. Coordinates scheduling of nursing staff for all units of the hospital.

This position requires the ability and knowledge base to devise and implement staff development continuing education, orientation and in-service training programs in response to identified needs and employee in-put. This position will be given duties that require knowledge and application of teaching principles and techniques in addition to nursing expertise and the ability to acquire information on new principles, techniques, standards and regulations, best practices, evidence based quality improvement issues.

Bachelor’s or Masters Degree preferred specializing in nursing and/or mental health.
Management experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
Thorough knowledge of JCAHO, CMS, OSHA requirements and state and federal regulatory requirements. BLS, current PPD, and successful completion of Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc. training during initial orientation.
