Provide direct patient care as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Provide medical management and assessment of patients. Ensure environmental safety and crisis management for the patient population. Direct the implementation of behavior management programs and ensure consistent carry-through. Make patient & task assignments to subordinates & monitor their performance of duties. Provide training & education to staff, patients, families, & others. Document patient care; ensure that data is accurate, & that it is included in the master treatment plan via timely nursing care plan updates. Work with the treatment team to provide a consistently therapeutic milieu.

Graduate of an accredited school nursing

Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.

Assists in the direct care & management of patients across all ages ranges with medical & behavioral issues under the supervision of the LPN / RN as directed by the treatment team. Assists with unit programming to facilitate the carryover of therapy issues, leisure activities & activities of daily living within the functional ability of patients and with consideration for the patient’s level of growth and development.

Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Prefer bachelor’s degree or college courses in health care, mental health, recreational therapy, education, or human growth & development.
