James D. Miller is Chief Executive Officer at Rolling Hills Hospital, where he leads a team of 400+ people dedicated to providing the highest quality of behavioral healthcare. “I feel honored to be part of an organization that has such deep commitment to patient care and where I can work side by side with some of the most talented and compassionate caregivers in the healthcare space.” With 130 beds, and a comprehensive continuum of inpatient and outpatient service lines, Rolling Hills has been a premiere provider of behavioral health and chemical dependency treatment in Middle Tennessee for more than a decade.

Miller has more than 17 years of behavioral healthcare senior leadership experience, having overseen acute and residential hospitals/programs, adult and adolescent services, inpatient and outpatient services, in both rural and urban areas. Most recently, Miller served as the Chief Executive Officer of Glen Oaks Hospital in Greenville, Texas. Previously, he served in the c-suite at hospitals in Texas, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Miller is an advocate for suicide prevention, awareness and reducing the stigma associated with mental illness. He is passionate about the use of clinical outcomes data to drive patient care and enhance the patient experience. Throughout his career he has been actively involved with behavioral health advocacy and focused on helping improve the lives of those that suffer from mental illness.

Raised in Memphis, Miller is a long-time Tennessean with deep family ties to the state. Miller is a graduate of The University of Memphis and is certified by the Human Resources Certification institute as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He has received numerous awards and recognition for his work in healthcare throughout his career.

While he’s not working, Miller can be found enjoying time at his home in Franklin, TN with his wife and two children. He is an avid automobile enthusiast and prefers to spend most of his time outdoors.
